Recent Quake Felt Across Westside and South Bay

Epicenter Located 9 Miles Southwest of Marina del Rey

A light 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck west of Los Angeles on Friday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The temblor occurred at 1:47 p.m. and was felt across the Westside and South Bay.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located 9 miles southwest of Marina del Rey, with a depth of 5.6 miles. The USGS reports that the quake was preceded by a smaller 3.2-magnitude earthquake at 5:08 p.m. Wednesday near Los Angeles International Airport.

There have been no reports of major damage or injuries, but the earthquake has caused power outages in some areas. The Los Angeles Fire Department is urging residents to be prepared for aftershocks and to call 911 if they experience any damage.
